Al-Harith ibn Hilliza

Al-Harith ibn Hilliza Al-Yashkuri is a poet from Bani Bakr .
He took part in the War of Basus .
He had vitiligo, and was known for his wisdom, rationality and his expertise in prose and verse .
He occupied a high rank among pre-Islamic poets due to his famous nuallaqa, which he recited before Amr ibn Hind, the king of Heera, and recounting the feats of his people against those of the Taghlibis .
His fame rests exclusively on this poem, without which he would have not been known at all .

His boastfulness is exaggerated and exemplary .
Amr ibn Hind was deeply impressed by the poem which was recited before him at the reconciliation session between the Taghlibis and the Bakris .
So, he asked the poet to draw near to him and honored him, against the kings' common practice of avoiding contact with people with vitiligo .
Al-Harith died in c .
